Is Douglas High School a good school?

Douglas is an alright school. The administration's view on mental health left much to be desired, but it has since been improved with more student input and seminars to try and reach those falling. Juniors are usually "test-taught" in that most of their teaching is in preparation for the NWEA test in the spring. Violence amongst students is most often at a minimum, but certain holidays do cause aggression amongst students for some reason. One example is on 9/11 of this year we saw a plethora of fights break out. The school has limited college readiness classes. They offer one type of honors course with it being for advanced English students. There are only two types of AP courses offered, those being AP Lit and AP Gov. Where they lack in courses offered they attempt to make up with a decent dual-enrollment system. The majority of seniors and some juniors take classes at nearby colleges in the stead of AP courses. That is my review of Douglas High School, SD
